From Plane to Park: Bypass The Check-in Line And Check-In Online

Lets face it…as magical as a Disney Resort lobby is, if you can skip the Front Desk and get started on your vacation right away, you would.

Well, a lot of guests felt the same way. Which is why Disney listened to us and added the Online Check-in on My Disney Experience. You can literally go from plane to the Parks and bypass the Check-in line altogether.

You are now able to Check-in 60 days prior to your vacation, making that 60 day mark even more important. (This is also the day that guests can choose their Fastpass+ selections) Your MagicBands are sent to the address on your Package, so as soon as you get notification that your room is ready, you are able to unlock the door with your MagicBand.

To take advantage of the Online Check-in, just download My Disney Experience and make sure your Plans are linked to the App. It’s really much easier than it sounds. Once that is set up, in just a matter of a couple clicks, you’re all set.

Check out the video below to see how the Online Check-in works:

This is just my opinion, but Checking in Online may not be for everyone. If you have special requests (including adjoining rooms), I would still go to the Front Desk to Check In. It just eliminates the frustration of finding that the rest of your party may be given a room buildings apart from you. Which in case, you’ll end up at the Front Desk anyway. While you are able to make requests on the app, nothing is guaranteed and there are some things that just need a Cast Member’s touch. But, otherwise, I think that this is a great addition to App. Even if you have to go to the Front Desk, it’ll lessen the amount of people who are ahead of you (or eliminate the line altogether). 🙂

So, what do you think about this Online Check-in?
