Helping busy families build their dream vacation

Another One Bites The Dust

If you received this notification on your phone, then you’re not alone. Unfortunately, it appears that another one of my moneymakers is going down the drains. 🙁

2017-11-01

I’ve had a feeling something like this was going to happen sooner or later. Games that used to earn points weren’t earning anymore, “Check-in” points were reduced from 10 points down to 5 points awhile ago, and lately, the gift boxes have had more Sweepstakes entries than earned points. But, still…free money is free money, so who was I to complain?

Up until now, mPlus Places has been just one of the ways that helps me pay off my vacations without using any money of my own. It’s always been a bit of a slow earner for me, but like I said, it’s free money, so I stuck with them.

So, what do I do with my points?

If you have enough points to get a Gift Card, make sure you redeem by January 31, 2018. At that time, all points will expire and all points will be lost. There doesn’t appear to be many Gift Card options on the mPlus Places app, but if you have the Cricut Rewards app, there are many more options and your points are all there, as well. You don’t need to be a Cricut Wireless subscriber to have that app or redeem. My cell provider is not with Cricut and I have always been able to earn, redeem, and play the mini games right on their app.

Update: I just got notice that Cricut Rewards app will also be ending their affiliation with m+ places on February 26, 2018. Any unused points should be redeemed by then or else you will lose them forever. 🙁

Does this apply to all mPlus apps?

While their statement only addresses the end of mPlus Places, after checking out their website, it appears like it’s the end of mPlus Points altogether. Like I mentioned, I had noticed a decrease in the amount I was earning, and in some cases (games), a complete loss of earned points. So, I can’t say for sure whether the company will be gone forever. But, at this time, it appears like it’s the end of the line for them.
