We’ve been back from Walt Disney World for less than 3 months and we’re all still feeling the Post Disney Depression. And I can safely say that the only cure for this disease is planning the next Disney Vacation. Or, at least that’s what I tell myself to make me feel better. 🙂
And while I am dying to head back ASAP, that doesn’t stop the rumor mill stating, “There’s no reason to go to Walt Disney World in 2019 because Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge won’t be open until Late Fall 2019. It’ll be better to wait until 2020.”
Just because Galaxy’s Edge won’t be open for awhile, that’s no reason to put off your trip (assuming you can afford to go again after Star Wars opens).
There are so many limited-time experiences coming to Walt Disney World that you will miss if you wait for Galaxy’s Edge to open.
The End of Illuminations
Illuminations, the nighttime show in Epcot, is ending at the end of Summer 2019, after 20 years of entertaining Guests.
What will be its replacement? Well, it turns out there will actually be TWO replacements.
The first of the two will be the limited-time experience, called “Epcot Forever.” It will debut in fall 2019 and will feature classic Epcot tunes. This will serve as a placeholder, most likely while Disney modifies the existing equipment, currently being used for Illuminations.
In 2020, the new nighttime spectacular, “A Celebration of Disney Music,” will debut. Through large floating set pieces, custom-built LED panels, kites with special effects, choreographed moving fountains, lights, pyrotechnics, and lasers, we will see just how Disney music inspires people around the world.
Mickey and Minnie’s Surprise Celebration
A limited time Surprise Celebration is coming to the Magic Kingdom. From January 18 to September 30, 2019, new entertainment, merchandise and specialty food and beverages will honor the world’s favorite Mouse Duo.
A brand new Move It! Shake It! MouskeDance It! Street Party will replace the current Move It! Shake It! Dance And Play It! Street Party. You’ll be invited to dance to a new, original song “It’s a Good Time” and modern remixes of classic tunes. This parade will also feature a live-singing host! So, dance along with Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy, Pluto, Clarabelle Cow, and more!
The parade will appear multiple times per day on its parade route near Cinderella’s Castle and Main Street USA.
Speaking of Pixar Avenue, from January 18 to September 30, 2019, the area will transform into a Metroville city block. Mr. Incredible, Mrs. Incredible and Frozone are throwing a party and everyone is invited. While you’re there, look for clues to find the youngest Incredible, the mischievous Jack-Jack.
Meet the one and only Edna Mode! She has set up a special location on Pixar Avenue to showcase some of her best creations. Of course, there will be no capes!
