Everyone talks about how expensive it is to take a Walt Disney World vacation.

But, would you believe that there are so many “things” you can get and experience for free?

So many things at Walt Disney World are worth the price. But, with these amazing opportunities, you won’t have to pay a penny.

Finding Free Souvenirs and Experiences at Walt Disney World

No Park Ticket Required

Disney Springs

Disney Springs is free in itself. Since Disney Springs is a giant shopping center, it is completely free to go in and walk around. So, even if you’re just passing through Orlando, you can get a taste of Disney without ever going into the Parks.

  • Parking
    • Parking at Disney Springs is completely Free.
  • Ghiradelli Chocolate
    • Walk over to Ghiradelli. Every time you walk in, you will be given a square of free chocolate. Can you say heaven?
  • Basin
    • Head over to Basin and you can test out as many Salt and Sugar scrubs you’d like. I love these scrubs! They leave my hands so soft that I don’t even feel the need to apply lotion afterwards. And for me, that’s HUGE
  • Entertainment
    • The live entertainment at Disney Springs is amazing. Stop and listen to some of these musicians. You won’t be disappointed.


  • Bus, Monorail, Ferry, Boat
    • These modes of transportation on Disney Property is completely Free. You don’t need to show the bus driver any sort of indicator that you’re staying at one of the Resort. Just hop on and go anywhere you’d like.
  • Trading Cards
    • If you ask a Cast Member, they may have a Trading Card for that specific mode of transportation. It may not always be the case, so don’t expect everyone to have one. But, it’s a nice freebie if you ask the right Cast Member.

Nighttime Spectaculars

  • Electrical Water Pageant
    • If you’ve ever left Magic Kingdom at night and saw a cute little parade of lights on the water, this what you saw.
    • It makes its way around Bay Lake, so even if you’re standing by the water at one of the area Resorts, you can see it go by.
  • Fireworks
    • The truth is, you don’t even need to be in the Parks to see their impressive Fireworks shows. There are many places around Walt Disney World Property where you can see the fireworks. In many Resorts, the music is also piped in, so you can even hear the music.

Within the Parks

  • Water
    • It’s no secret that it gets hot in Florida. Really hot. Pay attention to your health and don’t get dehydrated. If you’re feeling overheated, just find a Quick Service Restaurant and ask them for some free water.
  • Fastpasses
    • Fastpasses are free with the purchase of your Theme Park Tickets.
    • Attractions, Shows, and Meet and Greets that have Fastpass+
  • Celebration Pins
    • You can get Free Pins celebrating Birthdays, Anniversaries, or just about any other reason to be celebrating at Walt Disney World.
    • Wearing a pin does draw some attention to you. Cast Members may wish you Happy Birthday, Happy Anniversary, etc. Sometimes you will even get a free treat. But it’s not guaranteed. Remember, these are Free Pins, so Guests can grab a birthday pin, even if it’s not really their birthday.
  • Photos Taken By PhotoPass Photographers
    • Memory Maker is an Photo Package you can purchase to capture those special moments on vacation. However, if you don’t want to purchase Memory Maker, PhotoPass photographers will take those same pictures using your camera.
  • First Aid
    • If there’s something that ails you, just head to the First Aid Center and they’ll give you band-aids, pain relievers, nausea medication, etc…


  • Club Cool
    • Club Cool is a great way to cool down and try some coca-cola drinks from around the world. You’re welcome to try as many as you’d like so go nuts. And while you’re there, go ahead and try the Beverly!
  • Kidcot
    • Located in each country around the World Showcase, kids have the opportunity to do a little craft and learn a little bit about the country they’re in. The Cast Members are actually from those countries!
  • Concerts
  • Disney Chase Visa Exclusive Meet and Greet
    • If you have a Disney Chase Visa Card, you have the opportunity to get a private Meet and Greet and from what we are told, it
      includes a free printed PhotoPass photo.
  • Disney Phineas and Ferb: Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure
    • Defeat Dr. Doofenshmirtz by going through a scavenger hunt around the World Showcase. You can find the game on the Play Disney Parks Mobile App. (It’s also free).

Magic Kingdom

  • Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom
    • Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom is a Free Game that you can play throughout Magic Kingdom. But in order to play, you need your Spell Cards.
    • Go to the Firehouse on Main Street USA, to sign up (you just need your MagicBand) and they will give each person in your party a map and a Free pack of cards, per day you’re in the Magic Kingdom. Get duplicates, there is a Cast Member outside of the firehouse ready to trade for some better (and different) spells.
  • Pixie Dust
  • Treats
    • If you happen to be in the right place at the right time, you may get a free sample of some of Disney’s yummiest treats.
    • If you attend one of Disney’s Parties or Hard Ticketed Events, it’s possible you’ll get more treats than you can possibly eat in one night.
  • Go on a Pirate Quest
    • A Pirate’s Adventure ~ Treasures of the Seven Seas is an interactive game that can be played in Adventureland. You have 5 missions to complete. Once you finish, you’ll receive a special card, signed by Captain Jack Sparrow himself.
    • While it’s not guaranteed, Guests have been known to also receive a free fastpass+ for Pirates of the Caribbean for completing their mission.

Animal Kingdom

  • Earn your Wilderness Explorers Badge
    • Receive your Wilderness Explorers Field Guide and begin you quest to get all 30 badges. This adventure is self-guided, so you can go at your own pace. Didn’t finish during your last vacation?Pick up where you left off the next time you’re at Animal Kingdom.

Hollywood Studios

  • Join the Jedi Academy
    • Guests between the ages of 4 and 12 have the opportunity to defeat Star Wars’ greatest villains. Children will receive a
      Jedi Training Certificate for completing their Training.
    • PhotoPass photographers will be taking pictures the whole time, so be sure to pick up a photo card, if your child participated.
    • Participation is free, but spots fill up fast. It is recommended to sign up bright and early to sign your child up.

Around the Resorts

Disney Guests-Only Freebies

  • Magic Bands
    • When you purchase a Disney Package, you are entitled to a Free MagicBand. They will ship these to your house before your trip. You just need to go onto My Disney Experience and let Disney know which color your want and verify the address you want them to send the MagicBands to.
  • Magical Express
    • Only offered to Guests who stay on Disney Property, Disney will pick you up at the airport and bring you to your Resort…and it’s absolutely Free!
  • Refillable Mug
    • When you purchase a Disney Dining Plan, you get a Free Refillable Mug. Refills are also free at any of the Walt Disney World Resorts.
    • Don’t have the Disney Dining Plan? You can still purchase this mug for about $18.99 (could have changed since I was last there). You will also need to purchase the number of days you would like your cup activated to get the unlimited refills.
    • Either way, it’s a great little souvenir. I use mine all the time at home!
  • Theme Park Parking
  • Movies under the stars
    • Each night, the Resorts will play a movie (Disney, of course). Keep in mind that this activity may be cancelled due to the weather.
  • Character Wake Up Call
    • Need to be up early? Schedule a wake-up call from a Disney character.

Free for Anyone

  • Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Campfire Sing-Along
    • Taking place at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Campground, this completely free show is a great way to see Chip and Dale, sing songs, and eat s’mores.
    • You may bring your own s’mores or you can purchase some from the Chuckwagon Snack Bar.
  • Park Maps
    • While to some, it may sound silly to pick up Park Maps every single time we’re in Walt Disney World. But, to me, they’re free souvenirs.
    • I like to pick up extra and make DIY Park Map Magnets out of them.
  • Guided Tour
    • Many know of the expensive Tours, but there are a few Guided Tours that are absolutely Free! And the best thing is that not only are you not required to be staying at these Resorts, you’re not even required to be staying on Disney Property. They’re free, so you can just show up at their scheduled times.
    • A few of them are Wonders of the Wilderness Lodge Tour, Animal Kingdom Lodge’s Culinary Tour, and the Sanaa Cultural Tour. Since things change quite frequently at Walt Disney World, it’s best to check for times and meeting location beforehand.
    • Curious about some of the non-free Guided Tours in Walt Disney World? Check them out on Walt Disney World’s Website. Some are very reasonably priced, starting at just $25 per adult.
  • Learn to Draw
    • Artists are eager to teach you to draw some of Disney’s iconic characters. From what I hear, classes run about 30 minutes, so it would be easy to fit one into your schedule.
  • See Exotic Animals
    • Animal Kingdom Lodge is the home to some pretty extraordinary animal native to Aftica, such as the kudu giraffe, zebra, and ankole cattle.
    • Cast Members/Cultural Guides will answer any questions you have, as well.
  • Boardwalk Entertainment
    • Located between Epcot’s International Gateway Entrance and Hollywood Studios lies the Boardwalk. Walk between the two Parks or stop and stay awhile.
    • You’ll find street performers like balancing acts, jugglers, or street musicians that give the Boardwalk a fun, festival feel.
