The Wanyama Safari is a semi-private tour (maximum of 12 Guests) that takes you around the amazing Savanna at Animal Kingdom Lodge in Walt Disney World.
What sets this Safari apart from Kilimanjaro Safari (aside from not needing a Park Ticket to experience it) is the multi-course meal you receive after your private safari encounter with the exotic animals.
Like Kilimanjaro Safari? You’ll LOVE The Wanyama Safari At Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
The Wanyama Safari is open to all Guests, ages 10 and over. Due to the bumpy nature of the Safari Ride, much like Kilimanjaro Safaris, women who are pregnant should not go on the Safari.
Check in begins at 3 20 PM, outside of Jiko – The Cooking Place. There will be a Pre-Safari Reception from 3 30 – 4 PM before leaving promptly at 4 PM for the Safari.
You will spend the next 90 minutes exploring 46 acres of the Savannah and learning all about the animals that live there.
You may even learn some new facts about the Animal Kingdom Resort, as well.
Going on a Safari works up an appetite. Once the Safari comes to an end, you will dine at Jiko, where you’ll dine on African-inspired foods.
If you have food allergies or restrictions, it is recommended to mention it when you make a Reservation.
For those of you, like myself, who don’t eat meat and seafood, you can always ask what their vegetarian or vegan options are. They almost always have additional menu items that aren’t on the regular menu, but are on hand in the kitchen.
I have personally had a chef come out and personally talk to me about the food to ensure that it was just right. Disney is amazing with handling Food Allergies and Dietary Restrictions.
